All you need to know about the two newly added certifications: PCCSE & PCSAE

Until now you must have heard about 3 Palo Alto Certifications i.e. PCCSA, PCNSA and PCNSE but we all know, technology is all about development and growth. Hence, Palo Alto certifications have added 2 more in the list i.e. PCCSE and PCSAE.

These certifications are now launched officially and they are available for the qualification exams. The designing of the certification exam is similar to PCNSE but the objectives are way too different.

The two certifications are to validate the expertise skills in their respective domains. However, there are so many more things to be known by you about certifications but before that, let’s have an introduction to Palo Alto Networks.

Palo Alto Networks- the roots of Palo Alto Certifications

There is nothing surprising to mention that the world has come online in every perspective, from shopping to money transfer, from business to personal exchanges, from storage to sending. We all have become so much dependent on networks, servers, clouds and etc.

But the sad part is, the world does not have nice people only. There are some disruptions who try to penetrate in your personal data, and stopping them from this gets important even more.

And there is where Palo Alto Networks comes in the picture.

Palo Alto Networks is a multinational company who focuses on the security of networks, clouds, and whole cyber objects. The company is known for its innovative cybersecurity products and hence well-established and famous in the IT industry.

With such high use of their products, they realized the need for a high number of professionals to handle their products for such organizations. Hence, Palo Alto Networks introduced some certifications to validate the skills required to deal with firewalls and other security infrastructure

Previous Palo Alto Certifications

Before these two new certifications, Palo Alto Networks already had 3 certifications. All these certifications were categorised in 3 levels.

#1 Entry-level

● PCCET: Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity entry-level Technician.

#2 Administrator

● PCNSA: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator

#3 Engineer

● PCNSE: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer

All these certifications are well-known and demanded certifications. After the adding of new certifications, now there are 5 Palo Alto certifications.

Newly Launched Palo Alto Certifications- 2020

Palo Alto Networks has launched the new certifications at the end of November 2020. The certifications belong to the cybersecurity domain but validate different skills and knowledge.

The two certifications are:

PCCSE: Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer

PCSAE: Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer

Both the certifications fall in the expert category hence certifies you as a highly-skilled and professional cybersecurity expert.

Even though being a new certification, it has gained great credibility and trust in the IT industry and eventually, it leads to great career opportunities.

Both the certifications validate the ability to work, handle and knowledge of Prisma cloud and Cortex XSOAR respectively. And both the technologies are highly in demand these days.

Career options with PCCSE & PCSAE certification

While talking about career options after Palo Alto Certifications as a whole, there are a lot. But, talking precisely for these certifications then you have the following options.

PCCSE CERTIFICATIONS OBJECTIVES

Starting with the objectives of PCCSE certification, it tests you for the knowledge & skills needed to deploy, onboard and administer all perspectives related to Prisma cloud. The certification includes Prisma Cloud, Prisma Cloud Enterprise and Prisma Cloud Compute.

Prisma Cloud Platform offers a highly secure and compliant environment for applications, data and cloud-native technology stack in the hybrid cloud environment. Prisma cloud also enables cloud security posture management (CWPP).

PCCSE certification mainly covers the following domains:

● Cloud workload protection platform

● Visibility, security and compliance

● Install & upgrade

● Prisma Cloud Administration (inc. compute)

● Dev SecOps Security

● Data loss prevention

 ● Web Application and API security

PCSAE CERTIFICATIONS OBJECTIVES

Now coming on to PCSAE certifications, it validates your skills after testing the skills and knowledge required to develop, analyze, and administer the Cortex XSOAR Security Orchestration. Along with this, the automation and response platform is also included.

This certifies the knowledge and skills of autonomous security operations professionals. Cortex XSOAR is a single platform that orchestrates activities across complete security product stack. It certifies the ability of the engineer to be able to customize Cortex XSOAR to reduce the Mean Time to Resolution and understands the customer processes, which can be automated through Cortex XSOAR.

The major domains covered by PCSAE certification are:-

● Playbook Development

● Automations and Integrations and Related concepts

● Incident types, layouts, indicator types and fields

● Solution Architect

● UI workflow, Dashboards and reports

● Content updates and management

Prerequisites of PCCSE & PCSAE certification

Like the older certifications, these new Palo Alto Certifications do not have any prerequisites to be completed. However, having hands-on experience in the same field or getting trained is strongly recommended before appearing in the exam.

The training could be self-studied or by joining an institute. As mentioned earlier, Palo Alto Networks does not pop-up any conditions.

The only factor which matters is the knowledge you have.

Fee structure of PCCSE & PCSAE certification

Well, here comes the investment part. Yes, obviously you need to invest a few dollars to get a certified professional. However, the fees of Palo Alto certifications are quite low as compared to other reputed certifications. But, this time you need to pay around 175 USD for each exam.

That is to say, the exam fees are:-

● Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE)- 175 USD

● Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Automation Engineer (PCSAE)- 175 USD

Salary expectations after the PCCSE & PCSAE certification

Since they are new technology-based certifications, they can provide you with a high amount of salary.

The IT industry works on the law of development and hence every new skill is appreciated here with gratitude and of course high salary. The same is with PCCSE & PCCSAE certified person

Qualifying these certifications can help you get jobs with a salary of around 98,000 USD and even more. However, it is important to note that one’s knowledge and acquired skills play an important role in getting a highly-paid job. Just qualifying would not be enough if you haven’t learnt the skills honestly and attained the expertise on it.
